Once the most populated place in eastern Yuba County, Smartsville and Timbuctoo were both bustling gold rush towns. Today, many Californians can trace their ancestry to the pioneers who came and settled in this area.
Authors Kathleen Smith and Lane Parker hope the book will be "a valuable resource to everyone interested in California history, gold rush history and especially the history of the eastern Yuba County towns covered in the work."
