"Roughly $2,000 was raised [for the Smartsville Church Restoration Fund, Inc.]," according to President Kit Burton. "... however ... the most important benefit [was] in bringing the community together.... Yes, we are going to try it again next year. We’ll keep the things that were popular and successful, and try to fix the parts that need improvement. Please stay in touch and give us your thoughts on what would make Pioneer Day 2009 even better."
